Mangalore, Feb 3: Nationwide Jan Jagriti Abhiyan will be held from Friday February 20 to Friday March 20, against terrorism, conversion and cow slaughter under the aegis of Dharma Raksha Manch, said Vishwa Hindu Parishat (VHP) International president Vedantam.
Addressing the media persons here on Saturday January 31, Vedantam said that terrorism in the guise of Jehad threatens peace and inflicts wide-spread damage. Although terrorist attacks in America and other countries occurred a few times, they have not been repeated. The terrorists' attacks in India have been increasing due to the support of unpatriotic locals in the country. The politicians are jeopardizing the interests and welfare of citizens, with the lure of power. E-mail messages that are abusing Hindu goddesses and posing threats of serial blasts are being sent to key people across the country, he added.
Dharma Raksha Manch has been formed with sages, holy men and religious leaders, in order to protect the Hindu brethren. It was intended to hold over 8,000 meets all over the country to create peoples' awareness, he explained.
Dharma Raksha Manch has urged the Muslim religious leaders to issue fatwas against radical Islamists who wage Jehad on India, he urged.
VHP city division president Prof M B Puranik, Swamy Vignanand, Jagdish Shenava, Krishnamurti, Sharan Pumpwell and Sridar Bhat were present at the press conference.
