Bengaluru: Kampli MLA Ganesh, who assaulted colleague Anand Singh, arrested

Bengaluru, Feb 20: At last the police have succeeded in arresting Kampli MLA J N Ganesh who was absconding after the assault on Congress MLA Anand Singh.

As per the primary information, Ganesh was arrested in Goa and there is a probability that he will brought to Ramanagara on the night of Wednesday, February 20.

On the night of January 19, 2019, J N Ganesh had assaulted Congress MLA Anand Singh at the Eagleton Resort in the city. An FIR was lodged on Ganesh on January 21. Since then, Ganesh was absconding. Ganesh had applied for bail in the court for special people’s representatives through his lawyer. The same was taken back on Tuesday, February 19.

Ganesh will be produced before the local court either on Wednesday or Thursday. The KPCC has rusticated Ganesh from the primary membership of the party and also said that it will conduct an internal inquiry in this case.

J N Ganesh had posted on Facebook from his hideout that "I am innocent and I have not committed any mistake. The cause for all the chaos was MLA Anand Singh. I have not assaulted Anand. He got injured when he fell on the table. In addition, he had made remarks about my caste."
