Mangalore, Feb 2:
Konkani Yuva Mahotsav -  2009, the 86th monthly programme, was held at Noreen and Ronald Mendonca open theatre in Kalaangann here on Sunday, February 1.
 
Konkani Prachar Sanchalan, Konkani Yuva Awaaz and Mandd Sobhann jointly organized this event.

Events were organized in three categories, pre-university, college and open to all.



Singing, dance, comedy skits and beauty contest were conducted in solo as well as group wise categories. Students from the colleges in the city participated in the events.

Performance of renowned music director Alwyn Fernandes on guitar and melodious singing by Adolf Jayathilaka stole the hearts of the audience.
 
Comedy skits succeeded in bringing smiles on the face of every one present there and the other programmes too received lot of appreciation from the judges.
 
Music director Alwyn Fernades was the chief guest at the prize  distribution ceremony. Roy Castelino, president, Konkani Prachar Samithi,  Rony Crasta, secretary of Mandd Sobhann and Denis D'Silva, secretatry of Konkani Yuva Awaaz were also present.
