Mangalore, Feb 1: The media must highlight the issues which concern and affect the country's culture and traditions of decorum, and contribute towards building a mutually beneficial relationship in the society, instead of focussing on controversial issues, advised Madandas Devi, office bearer of Rastreeya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS), speaking at a press meet at Hotel Woodlands here on Friday January 30.
The event was organized by Vishwa Samvada Kendra, Mangalore.
He further said that the media has the responsibility of identifying the real problems in the society and create awareness among the people on them.
The media must also give prominence to objective reporting and provide justice to the news values to bring desirable changes in the society that are beneficial. Healthy discussions must be conducted on this aspect, he felt.
The country is suffering from problems like terrorism and religious conversions. Therefore, the media must identify the basic causes and guide the society and provide perfect solution for the problems, he said.
