Daijiworld Media Network - Haveri (SP)
Haveri, Feb 19: "The attack by terrorists on Indian soldiers was a heinous crime. There is a need to give a fitting reply to the aggressors. For the time being, there is no need to declare war against Pakistan. War usually results in the deaths of many innocent people. Therefore, my advice is to browbeat the terrorists by using some means other than launching war," explained Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math here.
The Swamiji was speaking to media persons here on Monday February 18. "Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is capable enough to handle terrorism. It is our duty to support the Prime Minister, duly transcending political ideologies, at times like this. There are people who celebrate deaths of soldiers. Among the intelligentsia in the country, many do not have a proper idea about our heritage and culture," he felt.
Pejawar Swamiji said that most of the people overwhelmingly support the idea of building a temple dedicated to Lord Ram at Ayodhya. He said that Ram Mandir should be constructed irrespective of which government gets formed at the centre. He noted that the Congress, for the present, does not have the courage to oppose this plan because of fast approaching Lok Sabha election as the party is apprehensive about the backlash of such a stand at the hustings. "Congressmen, who never took a stand in support of Hindus so far, have suddenly started speaking for them. We welcome this development. Our demands are construction of Ram Mandir, purification of River Ganga, and blanket ban on cow slaughter," he explained.
