Bengaluru, Feb 19: After the car in which Chikkamagaluru MLA, C T Ravi, was travelling, met with an accident in the early hours of Tuesday February 19, two young men standing by the side of the road lost their lives.
The car in which Ravi was seated hit cars which were parked by the side of highway near Urkenahalli in Kunigal taluk, Tumakuru district. Sunil Kumar (27) and Shashikumar (28), lost their lives in the accident. Another person is said to have suffered critical injuries.

Some friends who were returning to their native place after visiting Sringeri and other places had stopped their cars by the side of the national highway for relieving themselves. They had just got down from their cars when the Fortuner car with Ravi inside it plowed into them. It is learnt that the two cars had 13 people in them.
The victims belonged to Sooranahalli village, Kanakapura taluk, Ramanagara district. They had visited pilgrimage centres like Kollur and Dharmasthala apart from Sringeri, when tragedy struck. In the accident, the MLA also suffered injuries. After the accident, he reached the city in another vehicle. He is under treatment for the injuries he sustained in the accident.
The accident happened in the limits of Kunigal police station. The police personnel have taken the car into custody. The mortal remains of the deceased are kept in the mortuary of the government hospital at Kunigal.
