Kasargod, Feb 19: In connection with the murder of youth Congress workers, Kripesh and Sharath Lal from Periya in the district, the investigation team has taken two CPM workers into custody. Currently, the accused are being interrogated.
The police have also taken into possession two motor bikes.
The police have got information about three persons who had posed death threats to the victims. The police are keeping close watch on their movements. Investigation is being conducted by the police on the basis of calls received in the cell phones belonging to Kripesh and Sharath now.

Kripesh had, in the past, filed complaint in Bekal police station, informing them that he was facing death threats. He had claimed that he had received these threats through Facebook and WhatsApp. Based on this complaint, the police had registered case against three persons.
The state police have sought assistance from Karnataka police to find out the culprits involved with this murder. Kerala state inspector general of police, Loknath Behera, on the basis of information the department got about the possibility of some of the accused having fled to Karnataka, contacted Karnataka state inspector general of police and sought help in nailing the guilty.
The mortal remains of the murdered youngsters, which were subjected to postmortem procedure at Pariyaram Medical College Hospital, were brought to Periya in the evening. On the way, the people were provided with an opportunity to have the last glimpse of the deceased and pay respects. Thousands of people paid homage to the slain activists. Funeral was conducted at night at Periya in the presence of a large crowd.
Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president, Mullapalli Ramachandran, leader of the opposition, Ramesh Chennittala, K Sudhakaran, youth Congress state president, Dean Kuriakose and several other leaders paid their last respects. The leaders also visited the families of the deceased and tried to console them.
