Bengaluru: Suspension of assembly secretary - speaker gets high court notice

Bengaluru, Feb 13: In connection with a petition filed by state assembly secretary, S Murthy, questioning the decision to suspend him from the post for alleged irregularities relating to the assembly session at Belagavi during 2017, the high court on Tuesday February 12, ordered issuance of notice to the assembly speaker.

The single judge bench of the state high court presided over by Justice Krishna S Dixit, which heard the petition, ordered issuance of notice to the assembly secretariat, speaker and in-charge secretary of the assembly.

The assistant public prosecutor, who was present during the hearing, received the notice on behalf of the speaker. The bench thereafter adjourned the hearing to February 21.
