New Delhi: Sister Nirmala, Dhoni, Aishwarya Among Padma Awardees

New Delhi, Jan 25: According to the sources union government has announced Padmashree, Padmabushan and Padmavibushan awards on the eve of Indian Republic day.
Acknowledging his immense contribution to India’s nuclear dream, the UPA government on Sunday awarded Padma Vibhushan to Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Anil Kakodkar.
Kakodkar is one among the ten persons to get the award which includes names of environmentalist Sunderlal Bahugna, Sister Nirmala of Missionaries of Charity and ISRO chief G Madhvan Nair.
While, Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra, technocrat Sam Pitroda, journalist Shekhar Gupta and Lt Gen Satish Nambiar are among 30 who are felicitated with Padma Bhushan for his achievements in various fields.
Actors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Akshay Kumar are meanwhile has been awarded Padma Shri along with 91 others.
Team India captain M S Dhoni, spinner Harbhajan Singh, world billiards champion Pankaj Advani and former hockey player Balbir Singh Khullar have been also awarded Padma Shri.
