Udupi, Feb 9: Congress party has organized a campaign called 'Behtar Bharat' (better India), in order to unite the student community. As a part of programme, the campaign was inaugurated in the district of Udupi by NSUI on Friday, February 8.
The poster with respect to the campaign was released by district Congress president Janardhan Tonse. Addressing the gathering Tonse said, "We have organized this programme in order to gather the opinion from the student community with regards to their requirements which will be then added to our election manifesto. In the district of Udupi also, the Congress party is aiming to gather the opinion of the students through NSUI.
Speaking on the occasion, Christen Almeida, president of Udupi district NSUI said, "The idea of 'Behtar Bharat' is the dream of national Congress president Rahul Gandhi. Students are the real builders of the nation. The country has to progress in science, technology, art and culture and not in warfare. The societies progress when they accept ideology and justice. The students of India are in the frontline of progressive march and that is why this programme is organized."
"This campaign is started by the Congress party in order for the students to express their concerns about the exhorbitant fee and limited seats and the fierce competition they are facing, so that the same are given priority in the election manifesto in the coming Lok Sabha elections of the Congress party. It is possible for the party to form a election manifesto by gathering the priorities of students through their opinions," concluded Christen.
President of NSUI, Kota block, Ganesh and officer beares Dikshit, Harshit, Devdas and others were present.
