Panaji, Jan 23: The advanced Offshore patrol vessel 'ICGS SAMRAT' was commissioned by the Union Defence minister A K Antony at a special commissioning ceremony at the Marmagoa Port Trust in Vasco.

ICGS SAMRAT is the biggest Offshore patrol vessel of the Indian Coast Guard. The ship has been built by the Goa Shipyard Limited, Vasco under the leadership of the GSL chairman Handa.

Along with the Defence minister, Union Raksha Utpadan Rajya mantri Rao Inderjit Singh was also present.
