Kundapur, Feb 5: Dr Madhukeshwar, who was hitherto working as land acquisition officer at Dharwad, had recently been transferred as subdivisional officer here. However, even after several days, he has not been able to assume charge of his new post.

The previous assistant commissioner here, T Bhoobalan, was transferred as commissioner of Tumakuru City Corporation. After he got relieved, Aruna Prabha, project director of the district development cell, had taken charge as as assitant commissioner. This official was to hand over charge to the new incumbent. As Aruna Prabha was absent, the handing over of charge could not take place. The official cellphone of the previous assistant commissioner is with Arana Prabha, who is reported to be not receiving calls.

The last time Dr Madhukeshwar was transferred in place of the then assistant commissioner here, Yogeshwar, who was transferred to food department Udupi, Dr Madhukeshwar had to return as he was unable to take charge.

It is said that Aruna Prabha has been instructed by the district deputy commissioner not to hand over charge to Madhukeshwar.
