Faleiro: Shift ‘bekar’ WRD engineers

Porvorim, Feb 1 (TOI): Senior Congress leader Luizinho Faleiro told the Goa legislative assembly on Thursday that engineers of water resources department (WRD) are sitting ‘bekar’ (idle) and they be posted in urban development department, where there is a shortage.

Faleiro made the statement in response to the statement of urban development minister Milind Naik that his ministry has less number of engineers and new recruitment will begin shortly.

Water resources minister Vinod Palyekar shot down the decision stating that it was not true as his department too has limited number of engineers.

The question pertaining to engineers was raised by opposition leader Chandrakant Kavlekar as his concern was that municipal bodies are unable to prepare project reports due to lack of technical manpower.
