Rane Urges Youth to Maintain Cultural Tradition of Goa

Sattari, Jan 18:  Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly Pratapsingh Rane on Saturday, 17 January, said that rather than staging dharnas and agitating, we should resolve the problems by discussing and debating on the concerned issues.

Rane was speaking after inaugurating the two days 14th Goa Yuva Mahotsav organized by Konkani Bhasha Mandal and Yuva Parivartan Kendra, Parye in association with Department of Arts and Culture, Government of Goa.

While addressing the mammoth crowd he said that people should think in positive way and should take the development ahead with balance of nature, without harming the same (nature).

Most of the tourists visit Goa to see the natural beauty. So its our richness, which we should always preserve, but also should go ahead with development, he said further.

He also urged the people of Goa to press the government to save the Mhadai river from Karnataka. For which he told people that they should meet their MLAs and should press them to save the Mhadai.



He also clarified that being a Speaker of an assembly, he cannot use such tactics and  said that growing negative tendency should be eradicated for better future of people, state and country.

Speaking further Rane highlighted the importance of education in human life and said that it is a welcome sign that in this competitive world  girls are leading in every field. He stressed upon educational system in state and said it should give the Goan youths the freedom to achieve and in doing so should guide them accordingly. It should bring in an attitudinal change that will shake students out of a mindset of limited achievement.

He praised the organizers of Mahotsav, for giving the plank for youth to present their skills.
    
Youth are wealth and pride of nation. They should contribute their ideas and thoughts in developmental process. He urged the youths to equip themselves with various skills which would enable them to settle in their personal life, he said further.

Around 7000 odd youth from various schools, Colleges and other Institutions had gathered to witness the two day long Mahotsav at the Poriem villege in Sattari taluka. Youth with full enthusiasm presented their skills. Indigenous percussions also banged and echoed the Pandal.

Health Minister and President of Organizing Committee Vishwajeet Rane in his welcome address said that youth play vital role towards the development of state he urged the youth of the state to unite and fight the forces trying to divide us. He also added if Goa has to become a developed state, there should not be any division among its people.

Speaking further he said, the world is moving rapidly towards knowledge-based societies and economies. The pace of scientific and technological transformation all over the world has accelerated beyond our expectations.

Rajesh Patnekar, MLA of Bicholim favoured for organizing such type of Mahotsav in Sattari taluka, in which youth from different taluka interact with each other, share their views, hobbies exchange their thoughts which will help them to develop their own personalities.

He said also said that oneness remains in youth because of such type of Mahotsav.

Prashant Naik, President of Konkani Bhasha Mandal, raised the issue of Mhadai river and urged youths to discuss about such boiling issues for solutions.

He also urged with youths to become the real soldiers of Goa, by saving its identity.

Harsha Rane Sarpanch of Paryem, Eknath Naik, President 14th Goa Yuva mahotsav, Datta Rane President Yuva parivartan, Rajendra Usapkar also spoke on the occasion.

Gurudas Gaonkar proposed the vote of thanks. Anant Agni and Anvesha Singhbal compared the program.
