Vasco: PWD Minister Warns Officials to Ensure Proper Water Supply to Mormugao

Vasco, Jan 16: On Wednesday January 14, state PWD minister Churchil Alemao served  ultimatum to his department officials, that he would be initiating action against them if they fail to arrange for proper supply of water systematically to Mormugao within three months.

Alemao was interacting with the  people of Mormugao over their grievances. Revenue minister Jose Philip D'souza, MLA Milind Naik and others were present  at the meeting held at Vasco.

People narrated  various  problems faced by them to the minister. They also told him that although the 43 MLD water is supplied to Vasco from Salaulim dam, it does nt reach the city propertly, creating water shortage.

Most of the time Salaulim Pipeline get burst. On  these occasions,  Salcete and Mormugao Taluks face grave  problem  as they have to rely on getting water by drawing the same from wells and other sources, the citizens said.

Alemao assured people that he would look in the matter thoroughly and will meet  the needs of people.
