Mangaluru: ‘Hope Baila Show’ enthralls music and dance enthusiasts

Mangaluru, Jan 28: A large number of cheerful music enthusiasts were entertained to the full as Alfred Bennis Creations presented ‘Hope Baila Show’ at St Agnes Special School Ground on Sunday, January 27.

The show, led by Vishwa Konkani Kala Rathna Eric Ozario was a mixture of attractive songs and dance. More than 50 artistes of Guinness record team of Mandd Sobhann, including 22 famous singers, nine accomplished musicians, and 15 Baila dancers performed in the show.

The show was organized by Alfred Bennis for the aid of Hope Charitable Trust (R). 

 



Vedavyas Kamath, MLA, Alwyn Fernandes from Valencia and Anil Lobo, chairman, MCC Bank, attended as chief guests.

Addressing the gathering, Vedavyas Kamath, said, “I know Alfred Bennis from many years. He is a man of many good qualities. Especially, he is concerned about the society and needy. Today, he has organised this show for a good cause. It should be appreciated. I thank all music lovers who have gathered here in large numbers. It is a tribute to Alfred and his social service. Definitely, it will help him in his future plans."

Anil Lobo said, “Baila is one of the traditional dances of the Konkani community which is dear to all. Everyone wants to dance to the rhythm of Baila. At present, Mandd Sobhann and its Gurkar Eric Ozario are the ambassadors of Baila songs and dance. Through Baila show and Naach Sobhann, they are promoting it worldwide. Alfred Bennis is a kind of person who always has been known for his organizing skills and social work. He is a silent promoter of Konkani culture and language. From the past 25 years, he has provided a platform for many talents in Konkani. It is our duty to support Alfred and encourage him to continue the same."

Alwyn Fernandes praised the Konkani mission of Mandd Sobhann and organizing skills of Alfred Bennis. He also wished all singers, musicians and dancers for their performance.

The Baila show started with ‘Shirandhariso Pavs’ sung by Eric Ozario and Joyce Ozario. Well known singers Prakash, Jason Lobo, Sonal Monthiero, Adolph, Zeena Pereira, Joyline Lobo, Arun, Maxim Pereira, Prajoth D’Sa, Sunil Monteiro, Arun Danthi, Kavitha Danthi, Prituma, Diyet, Olita, Sonal, Oshin, and Lisha enthralled the audience with their melodious voice.

The artistes of Naach Sobhann performed dance for the songs. Alfred Bennis welcomed the dignitaries and gathering. Dr Vincent Crasta rendered vote of thanks.

Alwyn Danthi and Felix Moras compered the event.

    What a nite! what a show.Mind blowing songs and dance everyone enjoying to the fullest.Songs were of real class .Songs like Pestak santhosh osoya,ale ho shendo , and Sirandhariso paus were mind blowing .The dance was superb the young boys and girls perfectly dancing to the tune of music.But the success behind the nite was Alfred Bennis a very close friend contributing so much to a noble cause -Hope charitable trust .May god bless him for his social and good work.
