Kalaburagi, Jan 25: "I am still with the Congress. Some people are busy conspiring to make me leave Congress. I will take final decision about crossing over to BJP after holding discussions with the voters of the constituency and party workers," said Chincholi MLA, Dr Umesh Jadhav, who along with Ramesh Jarkiholi, Mahesh Kumthalli and B Nagendra had abstained from Congress legislature party meeting.
Jadhav, who emerged from his prolonged hibernation at Bedsur Tanda in Kalagi taluk on Thursday January 24, spoke to media persons.
"The environment within Congress is vitiating. District in-charge minister, Priyank Kharge, has been blocking development initiatives in the constituency. Therefore, I was frustrated and went o Mumbai to consult the spiritual leader of our community there. The minister is saying that he has no objection if I cross over to BJP. If this attitude is continued, Congress will lose this constituency in the coming election," he warned.
Jadhav stated that he is hurt by the developments within the party. "I was under treatment and therefore could not attend Congress legislature Party meeting. I have spoken to KPCC working president, Ishwar Khandre," he stated.
MLC, Prakash Rathod, who is a relative of Jadhav, also took part in the programme. Rathod has been sent by KPCC leaders to mediate with Jadhav and appease him. Rathod said he would convey the feelings of Jadhav to party leaders and try to set right injustices.
Party workers and Banjara community leaders were present.
