Mangaluru: Coastalwood all set to celebrate release of 100 films

Mangaluru Jan 24: Coastalwood is all set to celebrate the release of a hundred Tulu films in the presence of stars from Sandalwood and Coastalwood here at Nehru Maidan on January 27, under the aegis of Coastalwood Artistes and Technicians Association.

Addressing media here on Thursday, January 24, president of Coastalwood Artistes and Technicians Association Kishore D Shetty said, "The event will be inaugurated by founder of Karavali College S Ganesh Rao. Mayor Bhaskar Moily will preside over the function. MLA Dr Bharath Y Shetty, MLA Rajesh Naik, MLA Umanath Kotian, former MLA J R Lobo, president of Tulu Sahithya Academy A C Bhandary and others will be guest of honour.

Sandalwood stars Puneet Rajkumar, Darshan, Yash, Yogish, Suman Talwar, Ravi Basrur, Tarun Sudheer, Gurukiran, Manikanth Kadri, Sachin Suvarna, Rachita Ram, Amoolya, Deeksha Poovayya, Sonu Gowda, Manvitha Harish, Kavya, Akhila Pajimannu, Navin Padil, Devdas Kapikad, Arvind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor and others will take part in the celebration.

During this occasion, directors, producers, actors who received national and state awards will be felicitated. Discussion will be held on development of Tulu industry, quiz programme on Tulu films to the students, felicitation programme, Tulu orchestra, cultural events, comedy programmes will be organised, said Kishore D Shetty.

"Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy will be part of valedictory ceremony. Producer Kadandale Suresh Bhandary will preside over the function. District-in-charge minister U T Khader, Union minister D V Sadananda Gowda, MP Veerappa Moily, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Udupi district-in-charge minister Dr Jayamala, MP Shobha Karandhlaje, MLA Vedvyas Kamath and others will be guest of honour,” said Kishore D Shetty.

Producer Pammi Kodialbail, founder CATCA Harish Kodpady and others were present.
