Bengaluru, Jan 23: The state government has decided to document the preaching, ideology, and way of life of Sri Shivakumara Swamiji in book form for the benefit of the next generation.
The government wants to ensure that the messages given by the Swamiji, initiatives he had undertaken for the general welfare of the society at large, and messages he delivered for the betterment of the people, are stored in one place for the next generation. Therefore, it is planning to set up a committee to prepare an integrated document about the Swamiji and publish the same.
Speaking on the subject, minister for Kannada and culture, D K Shivakumar, noted that a storage of information relating to the departed Swamiji are available in his Math. He added that documents from various other parts of the state would be collected to prepare a detailed document about the Swamiji.
Correspondence the Swamiji had with people like former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, former chief ministers, Ramakrishna Hegde, Nijalingapa and J H Patel, Maharaja of Mysore, and others containing suggestions and blessings containing advice on running the government, provide a wealth of information. He also was in the habit of exchanging ideas with the heads of various other Maths about achieving overall progress of the society a large.
Shivakumar announced that he would form a separate committee and honestly try to bring out a book about the Swamiji containing all the details. He added that the government genuinely wants to place before the people the thoughts and ideas of the Swamiji.
He noted that the Swamiji had immensely contributed to the world through his efforts to provide education, food, ideology, shelter and other things. He also had taught the people how to harmoniously coexist with others. His demise has created a void that cannot be filled, he lamented.
