Panaji  Jan 9: BJP legislator Damodar Naik came down heavily on the South Goa district administration for its failure to take adequate sanitary measures at the construction site of the collectorate building coming up at Margao and demanded for the immediate removal of the South Goa collector G P Naik and to appoint an IAS cadre officer in his place.

Damodar Naik, who represents Fatorda constituency, also alleged that the collector never paid any heed to the suggestions extended by him on tackling of various problems plaguing Margao city.

In addition, the MLA termed the collector as a misfit on the job  and an inefficient officer.

"I had demanded for the initiation of  immediate steps to  prevent water stagnation at the construction site and that necessary sanitary measures should be taken, at the meetings held with the collector, but he never came up with any solutions nor acted upon my suggestions,” the MLA fumed.

Damodar Naik has served ultimatum on the authorities concerned, saying that the people will take to streets if they fail to take remedial measures in this regard.
