Bengaluru, Jan 22: Kampli MLA, J N Ganesh, who is facing the charge of attacking Vijayanagar MLA, Anand Singh, and attempting to murder him, is facing the prospects of getting arrested. Ganesh reportedly has not been available for contract now.
A first information report stands registered against Ganesh by Anand Singh, in which he has been accused of assaulting Anand Singh at Eagleton Resort, Bidadi.
Ganesh has been booked for offences under section 323 (assault), 324 (hitting with rod), 307 (murder attempt), 504 (posing threat to life) and 504 (purposeful disturbance of peace). Anand Singh has claimed that Ganesh had sought a pistol from others during the said attack, duly announcing his intention to eliminate Anand.
Ganesh has gone missing since the moment a case was registered against him. Bidadi police are on the lookout for him. Three teams, two among which are headed by Ramanagara deputy superintendent of police, Purushotham, and Bidadi police inspector, Harish, have been formed to find out the whereabouts of Ganesh.
Ganesh, who has been suspended from the Congress, has been trying to secure anticipatory bail from the court. At the same time, it is said that Anand Singh is contemplating to continue to stay put in the hospital till Ganesh is arrested, because of death threat posed to him.
A meeting of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee held on Monday had decided to suspend Ganesh from the party. The party has constituted a special inquiry committee comprising deputy chief minister, Dr G Parameshwara, K J George, and Krishna Byre Gowda. The committee has been asked to complete its investigation and file report at the earliest.
