Kundapur: Illegal cattle trafficking - two arrested, seven cattle rescued

Kundapur, Jan 20: Amasebailu police have busted the network of the gang that was transporting cattle, from Jaddinagadde of Amasebailu, Siddapura near here, in an Omni towards Mangaluru and arrested two person and rescued seven cattle. This operation was conducted on the wee hours of Saturday, January 19.

As per definite information, the team led by Amasebailu SI Shekhar along with Shankar S and home guard Manju who were making rounds, stopped an Omni for checking at around 1.40 am and unearthed the illegal trafficking of the cows.

The arrested are Srinivas Shetty, a resident of Gurpur Kaikamba and Ashraf, a resident of Ganjimutt. Asif and Navid, both residents of Ganjimutt escaped during the operation. It is learnt that the gang was transporting cattle via Nagu Kotari and Krishna Kotari of Amasebailu.

A case in this regard was filed at Amasebailu police station.

    If BJP/Modi/Ámit Shah supporting Companies are exporting beef, why not Shetty. This is just a tip of the ice burg. Only the buyers/butchers of the cows including police know, who are the master for selling the cow's.

    Where it is being transported is irrelevant. What is important is it was illegal trafficking and hence the culprits should be punished.
    The police should have used their guns.

    Relevant is in Goa cow slaughter is banned but sale is legal. From where the product comes for sale ? Lab cultivated ? Certainly not - it comes from Karnataka.

    The suppliers are none other than the one I have mentioned. As for public display they are cow-worshipers.
