MLC Ivan D'souza takes oath as parliamentary secretary

Bengaluru, Jan 17: Member of Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza took oath as parliamentary secretary here at Vidhana Soudha on Thursday, January 17.

He took charge as parliamentary secretary in the presence of chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, deputy chief minister Dr G Parameshwar, KPCC president Dinesh Gundurao, minister S R Mahesh, state secretary Vijay Bhasker.



The other secretaries are Sowmya Reddy, Anjali Nimbalkar, Mahantesh S Koujalagi, K Govindaraj, Roopa Shashidhar and Raghavendra Hitnal.

    The Supreme Court’s order striking down the UPA government’s Act to allow legislators to be appointed as parliamentary secretaries in Assam might mean curtains for Karnataka legislators holding such positions.
    Parliamentary secretaries are entitled to remuneration on par with those holding the post of minister of state rank. Such appointments are usually seen as a largesse to satisfy those who miss a ministerial berth.

    Parliamentary Secretary to CM can reply questions to CM in assembly on CMs behalf....also can see CMs Files and take decisions on his behalf....
