Mangaluru, Jan 17: As the general election is drawing nearer, political leaders in coastal Karnataka have become hyperactive. They have been busy issuing allegations and counter allegations with the hope of getting maximum coverage and gaining in popularity.
Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament, Nalin Kumar Kateel, has come down heavily on MLC, Ivan D'Souza, on twitter.
"Dear Ivan D'Souza, Please note that I have never risen to power by way of backdoor politics by holding a bucket (appeasing higher ups by bending to all their wishes with the purpose of achieving progress). If you have the guts, I challenge you to face me in the coming election. If you instead choose to follow principles of dirty politics and speak at will without control, you may lose the power you have currently gained," Kateel has warned.
It may be recalled that during the protest held by Congress leaders opposing the merger of Vijaya Bank with Bank of Baroda, Ivan had said that the MP who worships Modi is a blot on the district. He also had warned that unless Nalin Kumar Kateel exerts pressure on the Prime Minister and gets the process of Vijaya Bank's merger suspended, he would tear off Nalin’s clothes and pull him by his limbs. He also had questioned what the MP was doing, and that if he does not speak about this issue in the Lok Sabha, he can be treated as useless. He also had called upon people to tear the clothes of Nalin.
Nalin's response has come in this background.
