Mangaluru, Jan 17: In an accident that occurred in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 17, a woman lost her life when a car hit her at Kallapu on the national highway.

The unfortunate victim of this accident is identified as Florine D'Souza (48), wife of Ullal Hoige resident Dorath Paul.

Florine is employed in the Shagil watch company in Deralakatte. She was proceeding to her work, when this accident took her life. When Florine was trying to cross the national highway near Kallapu, a car that was coming from Thokkottu and going towards the city hit her.

Florine, who received grievous injuries to her head, died on the spot. The driver of the car, who caused this accident drove the car straight to the traffic police station at Garodi and surrendered to the police.

A case stands registered in this regard in the traffic police station at Garodi.

Florine is survived by husband and a daughter.
