Mysuru, Dec 30: Former chief minister and senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah has accused the BJP of offering Rs 25 to 30 crores to poach Congress leaders.
Speaking to reporters, Siddaramaiah on Sunday said that the BJP was playing backdoor politics and was attempting to buy Congress leaders. "BJP is involved in horse trade. They are offering Rs 30 to 40 crores. We do not know from where they are arranging money to buy our MLAs. Isn't it corruption?” he asked.
"How BJP can come to power with 104 MLAs in hand? Only when they prove their majority they can form government. But BJP will not be successful in its attempt to lure our MLAs," he said.
His remarks come in the backdrop of opposition leaders waiting to destabilize the present coalition government and after some of the Congress leaders expressed displeasure openly, a day after cabinet expansion.
