Mangaluru: Marriage called off by groom at last moment - issue sorted out

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (SB)

Mangaluru, Dec 28: The issue that occurred in the city in which a wedding was called off by the groom at the last moment, when the family of the bride's family was doing the final preparations is sorted out with a compromise meeting in the presence of police officers.

In the meeting, both parties agreed to call-off the wedding in mutual understanding. The bride also withdrew the complaint which was filed against the groom Nikith Shetty.

It might be recalled that Nikith Shetty, the groom from Mulihithlu, had called-off his wedding with the said bride after all the preparations for the wedding were done by the bride’s family. The bride’s family had filed a police complaint alleging cheating and defamation.

It was learnt that a match was made between the girl who was from Jeppu and Nikith Shetty from Mulihithlu. All necessary arrangements were made for their wedding. The girl’s family had even booked the venue for reception and started to invite relatives and friends. Nikith then reportedly backed off from marrying the girl.

Once the honeymoon period is over then the real marriage starts...and india-pakistan diplomacy is much easier than diplomacy between married couples.

It is not advisable for the girl to get married with that boy after he has widrawn to marry her.In future her life will be miserable.I would suggest the girls family to claim for the money they spend and also compensation for withdrawal.

We have to appreciate Nikhit Shetty for calling off wedding before taking place. It could be chaotic & hell for bride afterward if they had unwillingly got married.

one should not force himself/herself to be in a relationship, which is not faithful and not love-filled.

To get marriage both the couple should have comfortable, understand & like each other. In hindu religion some old customs need to be removed. Not to force to get marriage. Need to allow them to discuss each other for some period of time. Once they get to known each other well later family has to decide to marry them.

    Both are saved..
The boy did the right thing by backing off and being honest before the marriage.. If the brides/grooms side have done some financial transactions then it needs to be reverted.

I suggest society not to marry ..its all a farce ...please evolve into not having family ..but fulfilling your natural urge through self discipline and mutual understanding while enjoying life to its fullest .

    Cheers.

I feel compromises should be made before the respectable inhabitants of the society rather than before the police officers which can be questioned later in a court of law.

Anyway they agreed not to marry rather than marrying and spent money and time on divorce.
Now a days couple go to Sub Registrar's office and marry before they marry in a church or other place which is safe i feel.

Happy ending for both the couple before it was too late. Anything could have happened if the marriage was taken place.
