Madikeri, Dec 28: An advocate from here, Krishnamurthy, has filed complaint against rationalist Prof K S Bhagawan, who has authored another controversial book.
Bhagawan's Kannada work has been titled 'Why temple of Ram not required'. The advocate says that this book contains many things which hurt religious sentiments of Hindus. Krishnamurthy has urged the police to take action against Bhagawan based on his complaint.
Krishnamurthy also claims that besides making contemptuous remarks about Lord Ram, he also has shown disrespect to Mahatma Gandhi in the said book.
Pejawar Swamiji objects
Reacting to certain statements made by Prof Bhagawan about Lord Ram killing Shambhooka, Pejawar Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji said that Shambhooka was killed because of his wrong ways and destructive aims and not because of his caste. At the same time, he pointed out that although Shabari and Valmiki belonged to a community of hunters, Lord Ram had showered his grace upon them.
About the allegation of Lord Ram consuming non-vegetarian food, the Swamiji said that being a Kshatriya, he was entitled to it and hence there is nothing surprising. The Swamiji also has asked people to ignore what Bhagawan says or does as he is nursing anti-Hindu sentiments.
