Bahrain, Dec 19: The Mogaveers Bahrain celebrated their 4th Annual Day on Monday December 15 at the Ramada Palace Hotel.

The programme started with a prayer song by Jaganath Kadekar followed by a classical dance choreographed by Astika Shetty, sing-song and a skit called "Doddvarella Janaru" (All elders are wise) enacted by Friends Circle which was directed by Girish Iddya.   Mimic Ramesh sang from Kadalda Parba movie followed by Bhakta Kanaka dance.

The chief guest for the evening was the Indian Ambassador to Bahrain Balakrishna Shetty. He was welcomed by the Mogaveers' president, Girish Iddya together with Lokesh Puthran, a founding member of Mogaveers Dubai Association and Dinesh Kunder, PRO at the Customs of Mangalore International Airport and acclaimed coach of international athlete Poovamma.  Shetty and the other dignitaries were honoured with shawls, fruits and mementoes.

Iddya addressed the gathering and briefed about the activities of Mogaveers Bahrain. Shetty released the souvenir and thanked all Indians in Bahrain and Indian Embassy staff for the excellent support extended to him during his tenure of 3 years in Bahrain.  He reiterated that the love and affection bestowed upon him by the Indians in Bahrain will never be forgotten.

Dinesh Kunder in his brief speech said that so far he has managed to produce 5 international athletes from Dakhshina Kannada and assured that more importance will be given to Mangalorean athletes for international-level irrespective of caste or creed by training and coaching them.

Lokesh Puthran said a few words on this occasion.  He said we have to live in harmony and should love our people without any difference.  He said that he had his early education in a Catholic institution which made him a disciplined and hard working person and today he is a chartered accountant, having around 30 employees under his management.  He was the founder of Mogaveers Dubai Association.  His simple advice to people is to get into Yoga everyday which will help to have a clear mind and it will help to be closer to God.  John Iype, chairman of CCIA thanked the Mogaveers Bahrain for their contribution in cultural activities.

Mimic Ramesh entertained the audience with various topics of laughter and humor.  Some members and their children exhibited their talents by dancing to the cinematic tunes.

On Tuesday December 16, a reception was held for the guests and the members at the Papillion Restaurant.

Mr Dinesh Kundar Way back in 1982, we used to watch you & your brother Rajendra Kundar training hard for hours together(running, Javelin Throw, hammer throw etc). There used to be a big team of Athletes like Anand Shetty, Anil Shetty,Vandana Rao, Jamuna,Sukumar, Damodar Gowda, Vijayabharathi Shetty. You had a coach called Appacchu or Mohan (not sure). That year Mangalore was only second to Bangalore in medal tally at state level. You were our heros. As far as my memory goes you also were a good wrestler. Great to see you being honoured.

Yes Ramesh what you told is right. I don't know about you, but about Dinesh we were together more than 10 years in the stadium. Since for a just a misunderstanding about the cricket what we were playing inside the stadium, somebody boosted me, so stopped talking but still we saw his hard work. I met him after 10 years in the Airport but really he forgot those past things and helped me. Hats off to Mr.Kunder.

Dear Dinesh,Your hard work is paying off..wish you all the best in life.I have seen your determination when you coach in Mangala stadium. It is really a duanting task to create world class athletes with such poor infrastures.Your success story is great, but it would have been greater if only the authorities had given coches like you and athletes better facalities.Wish to see you in the same site being garlanded for helping to bring a olympic gold from LONDON 4 year down the line.
