Udupi, Dec 27: President Ram Nath Kovind arrived here on Thursday December 27, amid tight security in the district.
He was greeted by diwan of Pejawar Math Raghuram Acharya at the presence of Governor Vajubhai Vala, Nagaland governor P B Acharya, district-in-charge minister Jayamala, Kota Shrinivas Poojary, MLA Raghupati Bhat, DC Priyanka Mary Francis and ZP president Dinakara Babu.
President landed in a helicopter at Udupi helipad. He will later visit Sri Krishna Math.
President on the occasion congratulated Pejawar swamiji for his achievements and liveliness even at the age of 88. Pejawar swamiji also gave information regarding the history of Sri Krishna Math and preachings of Madhwacharya.
He also honoured the president and his wife in a traditional manner on the occasion.
Earlier the district administration and police department led by ADGP Kamal Panth, IGP Arun Chakravarthy, minister Jayamala, SP Laxman B Nimbargi, Zilla Panchayat CEO Sindhu B Roopesh, ASP Kumarachandra conducted all the preparations for his visit. The premises are cleaned to make sure that even a small bit of trash is not left.

President Ram Nath Kovind arrives in Mangaluru, proceeds to Udupi
Mangaluru, Dec 27: President Ram Nath Kovind arrived in city on Thursday, December 27.
He was welcomed by Governor Vajubhai Vala and district in-charge minister U T Khader at the airport. City mayor Bhaskar Moily was present.
President then proceeded to Udupi by defence helicopter.
