Bengaluru, Dec 25: Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy is in fresh trouble. A video clip, that purportedly has the CM telling someone, mostly believed to be a police officer, that the killers of a party leader be ‘mercilessly’ killed, has emerged, leaving the state government red-faced.
“He (Prakash) was a good man. I don't know who killed him in this way. Kill the miscreant mercilessly. There would be no issues,” the CM is seen saying in the video.
As the comments were circulated and criticised, Chief Minister Kumaraswamy called them an 'emotional' reaction.
"It was not my order, I was emotional at that moment. They (the killers) are the reason for two murders and they were in jail. They came out on bail two days ago and killed another person...this is how they are misusing bail," he said.
It may be recalled, that Prakash, a Janata Dal-Secular (JDS) leader and husband of zilla panchayat former president was hacked to death on December 24, reportedly by men on motorcycles who gave his car a case before attacking him with machetes.
