Panaji, Dec 16:  A police inspector who was suspended for neglecting security at state's border despite high alert in the state was reinstated in the services, just nine days after his suspension.
 
Nelson Albuquerque, police inspector, was suspended from services along with head constable and a constable when Inspector General of Police Kishan Kumar in his surprise checking found that the vehicles crossing Patradevi check post on Goa Maharashtra unchecked.
 
The surprise checking was conducted after Mumbai terror attack when entire state was on alert.
 
During the checking, IGP had found that the vehicles were left unchecked if they pay mere Rs 10 at the check post, a vital point on Goa-Mumbai highway.
 
Even as the department is conducting inquiry, the IGP reinstated Albuquerque in his services this week and posted him at Immigration cell.
 
The IGP when contacted said that inquiry against him will continue in the matter.
 
Interestingly, Albuquerque is a elder brother of Nerlon Albuquerque, a police inspector suspended for laxity in investigating sensational British teenager Scarlette Eden Keeling death case.
