Mangaluru, Dec 22: An Ola cab driver is left in a sticky situation as the vehicle service centre to which he had given his car for repairs has refused to release it, citing that Ola company has to settle their dues.
Ola cab driver Sujeeth, hailing from Kadri had given his Ola car for repairs at Automatric Service Centre on October 29. Sujeeth claims that Ola company is liable to pay for repairs as per their agreement.
Speaking to daijiworld.com, Sujeeth said that he had taken the car on lease by paying Rs 14,000 as refundable security deposit. “As we pay Rs 700 per day as rent, Ola is liable to pay for repairs and tax. We only have to pay for fuel,” he said.
He said that he gave his vehicle for repairs at Automatric service centre in Bejai, a subsidiary of Ola on October 29. “I went to the service centre to get back the vehicle on November 2, but the centre refused to release the vehicle saying that Ola has to pay them several old dues.”
“Ola company assured to sort out the issue within next two days, when I approached them. But they have failed to act for the last two months. I am waiting for my vehicle so that I can earn my living. Ola is not even refunding my deposit. I demand that Ola refunds the deposit so that I can look for other source of income,” he adds.
