Bengaluru, Dec 22: “The holiday for the feast of nativity of Mother Mary was left out due to oversight in the list of holidays announced by the government. The holiday is not cancelled,” clarified chief minister H D Kumaraswamy.
“The restricted holiday on September 8, celebrated as the birthday of Mother Mary will continue in 2019 also,” he said while answering to the query by MLC Ivan D’ Souza in Vidhana Parishad.
“There was no mention of nativity feast in the list of holidays of 2019 released by commissioner of Muzrai department. Therefore, it will be added as restricted holiday in the gazette notification of the government,” he added.
