Mangaluru: IT officer Nathalia Helen Lobo spearheads talk on taxation laws

Mangaluru, Dec 19: Manipal College of Dental Sciences in collaboration with the Income Tax Department conducted talk on taxation laws and income tax act here at college premises, Attavar on Wednesday, December 19.
Speaking on the occasion, income tax officer ward 2(5) Mangaluru, Nathalia Helen Lobo said, "Income tax return file should be done in time or else you may lose the opportunity to collect the return. You can revise the return file if the income tax return is done on time. For professionals ITR form 3 needs to be filled and Aadhaar card and Pan Card are mandatory for this case.”
She also said, “Form ITR 2 is for those who have salary or pension/multiple houses. If the income is more than Rs 2 lac then assets and liabilities should be presented. Tax rate slabs for 2018 -19 for Rs 2,50,000 to Rs 3,00,000 is 5%, Rs 3 lac to 5 lac is 5%, Rs 5 lac to Rs 10 lac is 20% and above Rs 10 lac is 30% and cess of 3% is common for all."
Joint commissioner of income tax range 2 Mangaluru, Saurabjh Dubey said, "We are here to address the doctors because as a doctor you can get attention of the masses. You are agents of change and opinion makers. Hence, spreading awareness on income tax is necessary.”

Dean of Kasturba Medical College Dr Venkataraya Prabhu introduced the guests.
