Mangaluru, Dec 17: The renovated building of St Joseph the Worker church of Vamanjoor on the outskirts of the city was inaugurated by Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, bishop of Mangaluru Diocese on Sunday, December 16.
The bishop was given a cordial welcome as he entered the church premises. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, who entered the church after a procession with hundreds of devotees, completed the religious rituals. Later, he inaugurated the renovated church by cutting the ribbon.
Giving his blessings and address, the bishop said, "Let us live like good human beings in the society through love, friendship and brotherhood. Let the blessings of the Lord be on all."
Thousands of devotees took part in the Mass. Holy Communion was distributed to the devotees after the prayers. The parish priest of the church, Fr Cyprian Pinto was with the bishop in the religious ceremony.
Fr Victor Machado, vicar vara, Mangaluru episcopal city varado, Sr Zeena D'Souza, provincial superior, Mangaluru province, SRA congregation and Sr Cicilia Mendonca, provincial superior, Mangaluru province, Bethany Congregation were present on the occasion.
The renovated church is beautifully designed with attractive carvings and is the center of attraction of all.
