I agree with Mr. Langoolacharya. It's the same here in Canada. Setting up Emission Test for older vehicles every 2 years or 3 years is okay. Many vehicles will fail the test, will need corrective measures but it's okay. Showing a Emission Test Certificate every time you buy Gas ( Petrol) is silly, that will create more fraud, Bunk owners will also loose business ... Who gives all these Ideas ?

    Impractical law...

In US, new Vehicles are given 3 years registration and old Vehicle 2 years emission Certificate...

If test fails...their registration will not be renewed unless Vehicle passes emission test...

Petrol pump people are not competent to enforce the law..this will add corruption in pumps...

This is classic example of another flawed law...like CL 5 requirement for alcohol in parties...

Again we need to expand our voter base...by adding more smart animals in it...than what we have currently...

    ...Tak...Takk...

    You are incorrect.
In Pennsylvania the emission test is every year plus requires up-keeping of the vehicle.
In Georgia emission test is required every year.
In Washington state there is no emission test.
    Each state has different law

It's a very good initiative by the govt. But in India no law, rule and regulation works. Corruption is so rampant money is the supreme authority. If only Indians including politicians complied with laws India would have beaten US long ago. Everything is politicized for political gain in India.

One more ill thought out rule to break the rules!
If a diesel buyer is buying it for back hoes or tractors pumps which hardly work inside the city but outside, what they have to do to get the emission test?
Suppose a valid emission test certificate holder will let others use it by lending them for a fee, how can this rule apply,
If some one comes with a can to fill what test certificate they can demand with somebody else's certificate?
Why Petrol bunk owners should lose their business for lack of certificate from potential buyers?
