New Delhi, Dec 15: The news that banks will be closed for five days in December has become a matter of discussion. It is said that banks will be closed for five days due to protests, festivals and weekend holidays.
Bank officers and employees have decided to go on countrywide protests separately. The All India Bank Officers Confederation (AIBOC) has given strike call on December 21 against Indian Banks' Associations move to leave officers in scale IV and above out of the bipartite wage settlement ambit.
As December 22 is fourth Saturday of the month, bank has a holiday. December 23 is Sunday and December 25 has a holiday for Christmas.
Union Forum of Bank Employees (UFBU) has called for protests on December 26. Therefore, banks will not function for five days.
