Karkala: Sexual harassment of student - teacher remanded to judicial custody

Karkala, Dec 15: Teacher of a school, Prasad Kotian (28) from Perady, who has been accused of sexually harassing a girl student inside the school where he teaches, was produced in the district special court at Kundapur on Friday December 14.

The court remanded Prasad to   judicial custody till December 27.

The accused, serving a private school near Hosmaru in the capacity of teacher, allegedly was involved with unethical activity with a girl student. A video footage of this act was being shared over social websites.

Relating to the incident, the teacher was arrested by the rural police here on Thursday.

    Use "Saudi rule" against him..then he will understand...

    I urge media including "Daijiworld" to follow up on this case until this teacher get punished. Else, this case will die & teacher will be granted bail within one month & later on he will be left free saying that, there was proof found. This is what happens in most cases....

    Rauf mangalore we dont practice saudi rules here .Here this person has only a minor sexual harassment undergone comparing to other group rapes.How many of them got the hard punishment ?Hardly any.But it is necessary here too to punish the person wo involve in sexual harassment too accordingly.we are allowed in India to speak freely.whereas in UAE or saudi are you?just think of it.

    Prabhuji... Girl is a minor means, her mind is not equal to an adult, she can easily be misled. Girl is the one who has been offended with.... This man took advantage of his post as teacher to influence a minor... Its an offence under established laws..

    I saw the full video today as it came as Whatsapp forward. Only by Date of Birth and age, girl may be minor. Otherwise she is major than this teacher. Why arrest only this teacher? She is also equally responsible. Both enjoyed on mutual consent (only the location was wrong !)

    Ideal solution for this is get both of them married right away and send their kid to the same school.

    i see inn the video the girl coming first & waiting for him.
    That means the girl is waiting for him & she has agreed .
    Both of them should be called & taken statements .
    In onr yes the teacher is wrong to do this activity inside a school where he teaches .
    Other way the girl also is on fault

    The adolescent children, especially girls are very naïve and they are very susceptible for minor goodies. The hormonal changes too play a role.That is the reason the law puts them under 'minor'.
    Exploiting the weaknesses of this age is unpardonable. Do not justify the act of this pervert teacher.
