Mangaluru, Dec 11: In the state assembly elections that were held for five states of the country, Congress is leading in the trends in three states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajastan. Congress party supporters were seen celebrating the lead with fire crackers and distribution of sweets in front of the district Congress office in the city.
Former MLA J R Lobo said, "We are delighted to gain upper hand in three major states that is Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. The result indicates that people have lost faith on BJP and its administration. People still has faith over Congress and supported us in both the hands and this result will be a moral boost for upcoming general elections.
District Youth Congress president Mithun Rai said, "I congratulate Rahul Gandhi on this victory in three states and he is the future leader. People could not trust BJP which is anti-farmer and not in favour of the people. We don’t need Modi's ‘acche din’ and will make BJP free country.”
The leaders and activists of the party raised slogans in praise of senior Congress leaders of state and the country.
MCC chief whip Shashidhar Hegde, former district Congress president Ibrahim Kodijaal, District women congress president Shalet Pinto, A C Vinayaraj and others were present.
