Mangaluru, Dec 10: "If my party issues me the ticket, I am prepared to fight the next Lok Sabha election," said former union minister, B Janardhana Poojary.
He was speaking to media persons after distributing fruits to inmates of certain Ashrams here on the occasion of birthday of Congress leader, Sonia Gandhi.
He said that the party leadership has been collecting information from him about the current issues in the party in the district. "Irrespective of who gets party's nomination, everyone including the candidate should work hard for victory. We should be able to convince the people that we will do good work. Unless there is trust among the people, no one including me can win. If the leaders have faith in me, they should issue ticket to me. The party candidate should win at any cost," he stressed.
Speaking about Sri Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, he said that Hindus ardently desire to have the temple dedicated to Lord Ram at Ayodhya. "I do not think I committed any mistake in supporting Ram Mandir. I am committed to this statement even now. There is no need for anyone to have any doubt about what I said," he stated.
Poojary said that in his view, Lord Ram, Jesus Christ, and Prophet Muhammad are incarnations of God. At the same time, he said he does not pressurize anyone to have faith in any specific god or goddess. "Because of this, there are people who issue statements against me, and threaten to eliminate me. Till I die I will stick to the above things and repeatedly say what I have already said. I am not bothered whether people believe me or not," he clarified.
