Mangaluru: Accused in ten-year-old case hiding abroad arrested

Mangaluru, Dec 8: The officers and personnel of anti-rowdy squad of north city sub-division here have succeeded in arresting an accused relating to an old case and producing him in the court.

The person in question, who was wanted in a case of cheating that happened in 2008 within the limits of Panambur police station here, had been hiding from the police since the last ten years.

 

The arrested accused happens to be Mohammed Rafiq Beary (38), son of M K Abdul, resident of Bhaskar Nagara, Uchila in Udupi district.

The man was found and arrested with the efforts of teams led city north sub-division anti rowdy squad police inspector, Rafiq K M, and police sub-inspector of Panambur station, Umesh Kumar M N, who acted under the leadership of assistant police commissioner of city north sub-division, Manjunath Shetty, a release from the department stated.
