Karkala: Bus impounded for transportation of beef – driver, conductor arrested

Daijiworld Media Network - Karkala (SP)

Karkala, Dec 8: Acting on reliable information, police personnel of Hebri station intercepted a mini bus moving towards Mangaluru from Shivamogga via Hebri and Udupi on Friday December 7. After finding that beef was being transported in the bus, they arrested the driver and conductor of the bus.

Both the driver of the bus, identified as Rizwan and conductor Deepak are from Shivamogga. It is being claimed that they were bringing beef that was kept in a packet for being delivered to a person from Udupi at the request of a person from Shivamogga. The police are yet to ascertain whether they had prior knowledge about the fact that the parcel contained beef.

A police team led by Hebri police station officer Mahabala Shetty took into custody the parcel containing 15 kg beef and the bus. The police are probing the incident.

Govt. should make a compulsory law of mixing of beef with pork in the ratio 70:30 for human consumption. All problems will be solved.

The better idea is to make beef 10% compulsory with vegetables. Maybe people will stop lynching and learn to live in peace

1.Is there any law in Karnataka that says that you cannot carry meat (Including) beef in a bus.
2.Beef is freely available in markets and stores in mangalore. There is an Licenced abattoir in mangalore for slaughtering designated animals (As per the law). Why this fuss about transporting beef?.
They actually have no respect for the cow. If they had then they should have been vegans. How many Vegans do you see in mangalore. People exploit the cow till the end. Artificially inseminate it so that it will give birth to calves and then rob the milk from the cow. After all this claim to be concerned about the cow. Hypocrites of the highest order.
    Be a Vegan first.

VM:mangalore whether there is a law or not,it is not hygienically seen it is not good to carry in bus or car without any cold storage. In India specially in karnataka ,tropical heat, meat will deteriorate soon.So healthy also not good for hours to transport without cold storage. But who cares this in India. In bus there are all types of people travelling ,carry everything from A to B.tend to get infections too.

I wonder what the charges are. While there are restrictions (not blanket one) on cow slaughter, transportation of beef is perfectly legal in karnataka. We don't have laws like in Gujarat or UP where "possession" of beef will get you 7 years. It's not narcotics. It's meat, for God's sake. and it isn't a crime to transport it. Unless Sangh parivar and colluding policemen made their own law? It is not the transportation that is illegal - It's the arrest that is illegal

Do you know how illogical you are sounding?
you cannot transport meat in a bus. Thats the law.
If you do not know this rule, its ok.
    But the Bus driver knows.
Thats why he is inside the station.

There may be a FEKUISM angle ..., someone would have kept the parcel containing alleged beef, without the knowledge & permission of the driver and the conductor..., then stage managed the show to fool the Hinduism believers...., after all FEKUISM is triumphing everywhere....!!!!

To my knowledge the Islam believers now a days very careful, cautious & mindful when it comes to COW/beef/cattle etc., in fact... many confessing that... they even stopped consuming it...!!!!!

I strongly advocate to allow consumption of beef (b'coz of its energy quotient/putra jeevak) by those couples who seek treatment for infertility...., under strict advise & supervision of doctors ....!!!! though i may be wrong also in my view.., always second best contra view is welcome...,

    lol..., everywhere DOMBARATA...!!!

In Karnataka, cows can be slaughtered if old and possession of beef is not a crime. This Rizwan and Deepak were transporting in a mini bus. If possession is not a crime, why arrest whether you carry yourself or use transport ? Court will definitely acquit them, if they get proper counsel

People and court knows its not a crime...... Previous government told not to use plastic bags.... Some youths were checking everyone whether they have plastic bags..... Now where are they???? They want some job..... They will inform the police and what police knows. In Bihar court issued to search some business man regarding his income and police were not knowing the court order they just arrested the person and tortured and presented him to court. when Judge asked for his crime and police presented this paper and judge found that police were not able to read English and they thought the business man is criminal and arrested and tortured him. Do you think our police personals are educated?????
