Kasargod, Dec 3: The state Anti-Terrorist Squad has taken three people who provided shelter to Abdul Jabbar (34), a suspected terrorist who was arrested from Hyderabad after escaping in an exchange of fire with the army jawans in the Kashmir some time ago, into custody.
The squad has gathered information that Jabbar was provided treatment at a hospital in Perumbavoor for injuries sustained by him during training. After treatment, he started working in a plywood factory in Kannur. The arrested persons are facing the charges of providing him secret shelter and other assistance.
Jabbar was arrested on November 23 from Hyderabad. During questioning, Jabbar is stated to have revealed that 10 persons including five from Kerala, were trained in Kashmir, by two trainers from Lakshar-e-Toiba, a Pakistan-based terrorist organization.
The policemen are also trying to find details of the mysterious appearance and the subsequent disappearance of an unidentified ship at the Bekal shores. The coast guard has been patrolling the coastal waters of Kerala. Information about all the ships that visited Bepoor since the last one month, are being collected.
