Mangaluru, Dec 2: Mahendra Kumar, a former right-wing leader said that RSS has often tried to take political benefit by using deaths of Hindus.
He was speaking at a discussion during ‘Jananudi’s second day programme which is being held on at Shanthi Kiran, Bajjodi. He said, “When a youth from Shivamogga died, they politicised it. They had asked me to use the brutal murder for political gain to which I did not agree to. They are helping the BJP to come to power.”
Niketh Raj Maurya, leader, Jago Bharath Movement, speaking at 'Horalu Nota', a discussion, he said, “The people and Hindu outfits, who once praised Tipu Sultan and his bravery, are now opposing celebration of his birthday.
“Once they proclaimed him as the pioneer of rocket science and martyr of our soil. But all of a sudden with an intention of communal divide, they started spreading hatred about Tipu and his father Haider Ali. Now they are calling Tipu as a communal leader and he never fought for freedom of India. It shows how they changing their colour based for political gain and personal interests “he said.
“If left-ideology thinkers celebrate Narayana Guru Jayanti, the right wing outfits will oppose Narayana Guru and will compare him to Tipu Sultan. In total, people who are trying to take India to ancient and past are always active in communal separation and hatred. We all know that B S Yeddyurappa and Jagadeesh Shettar also celebrated Tipu Jayanti. They betrayed Tipu for political mileage.
“Mahatma Gandhi was a great devotee of Lord Ram. No one can question his faith on Ram. While taking his last breath he said ‘Hey Ram’. But still some people are using Lord Ram for political gain. During elections they remember his name and once their job done they throw him out. The progressive society should thing about it. We should be more careful about false and hatred,” he added.
Sudheer Marolli also presented his views on secular India.
The two days literary and art conference ‘Jananudi’ culminated on Sunday with Dinesh Amin Mattu presiding over the concluding ceremony.
