Moodbidri, Nov 25: The two-day state-level drawing camp ‘Yuva Alvas Chitrasiri- 2008’, began at Sundari Ananda Alva Campus, Vidyagiri, Alvas College, on Sunday November 23. The camp was a precursor to the forthcoming ‘Nudisiri-2008’.
Speaking after inaugurating the camp, Charukeerti Swamiji, Jain Math, Moodbidri, said that the art has the power to cross barriers of language as well as any border and unite people of the world. Harikrishna Punaroor, president, state Kannada Sahitya Parishat, presided over the function.
Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, president, Dakshina Kannada District Kannada Sahitya Parishat, was present on the occasion. Dr M Mohan Alva, president, Alvas Education Foundation, delivered the keynote address on the occasion.
N S Palthar, convener, welcomed the gathering. N R Ballal, assistant executive officer, proposed the vote of thanks. Deviprasad Shetty, students’ welfare minister, compered the programme.
