Kasargod, Nov 22: Kerala state BJP general secretary, K Surendran, who had been arrested on November 17 from Nilakkal after violating prohibitory orders and undertaking pilgrimage to Sabarimala, secured conditional bail from a court in Pathanamthitta on Wednesday November 21.
Surendran was ordered to furnish personal bonds of Rs 20,000 each from two persons. He was also restrained for two months from entering Ranni district in which Sabarimala is situated. All the other 71 pilgrims who were arrested along with Surendran, were also granted bail.
Although Surendran has got bail, chances of his release are remote, as he is likely to be produced at Kannur court relating to laying siege to the office of Kannur district superintendent of police a year back and posing threats to police.
