Bantwal, Nov 19: The garbage treatment plant that was under construction at the populated locality of Kaikunje, near here, should be shifted to a less-populated area, urged B Ramanath Rai, MLA, on Monday November 17.
Rai was speaking to mediapersons on Monday evening, after viewing the location of garbage treatment plant at Kaikunje, Bimooda village, in response to the pleas of Kaikunje Abhivraddi Sangh. The Sangh is seeking his support for opposing the land acquisition process on survey number 51/20 AP 3, to set up the plant under municipal underground drainage project.
He urged the municipal authority to consider the people’s interest before coming under the influence of bureaucracy. Mohammed Iqbal, deputy municipal councilor, Riyaz Hussain, member, Padmanabha, president, Kaikunje Abhivraddi Sangh, Ramesh Prabhu, vice-president, Harish Mambady, secretary, K S Bhandary, joint secretary, Balakrishna Prabhu, treasurer, members Ramachandra Rao, B Tammayya, Gangadhar, Uggappa Poojary, Lingappa Master, and Ramesh Salian, were also present on the occasion.
