Bantwal: Enjoyable Children's Day held at St John Mary Viyanni church

Bantwal, Nov 14: On Children’s Day, a programme was organized organized by the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) in collaboration with the Parish Pastoral Council on Sunday November 11 at Bambil church hall of St John Mary Viyanni church.

The programme commenced with a prayer song. Preethi Rodriguez, unit member ICYM Bambil unit welcomed the gathering.

The inaugural programme was presided over by Fr Johnson L Sequeira, Flavy D’Souza, vice president, Parish Pastoral Council.

Two children representatives Aaron D’Souza and Rachel Rodriguez and Joy Crasta, president ICYM Bambil unit were present for the inaugural programme.



The programme was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries on the dais.

Flavy D’Souza addressed the children and stressed the need of always having a positive outlook.

Fr Johnson L Sequeira addressed the children inspiring them with his words and stressing that children should be accepted with love and care.

Preethi Rodriguez proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Preethi Rodriguez.

Group activities in the form of games were played by the children. Nearly 40 children participated in the event.

ICYM Bambil unit members conducted group dynamics, performed a skit by Raja and team, Manasa group song was sung by Melita and group, a group dance was performed by Roshni Pinto and team, duet song was sung by Lesley D’Souza and Praveen Serrao, a solo dance was performed by Preethi Rodriguez, actions songs were conducted by Calvin Fernandes and team.

The cultural event and games were compered by Alvin Veigas.

A sumptuous meal was served to all. The children merrily danced to the baila and returned to their homes with an ice cream.
