Mangaluru Nov 12: Mangaluru's prestigious organisation Career Destiny, sister organisation of Indian Computer Academy organised Dumdubi Chende competition here at Pilikula Nisargadhama on November 10, on the occasion of Deepavali celebration.
Director of Shivarama Karanth Pilikula Nisargadhama, Prasanna inaugurated the competition.
Addressing the gathering, Prasanna said, "This is wonderful step taken by Career Destiny to organise Chende competition to save this form of culture.”
As many as eight teams took part in the competition. Sri Shabari Chende Balaga Mullakaadu, Kavoor bagged first place, Sri Guru Chende Balaga Permanki bagged second place, Sri Umamaheshwari Chende Balaga Kapikad bagged third place and Nandini Chende Balaga Kateel bagged fourth place.
Sharadha Chende Balaga Bantwal, Mahavishnu Chende Balaga Baalila Sullia, Dharmashashtra Chende Balaga Kulshekar and Triroopini Chende Balaga Surathkal also took part in the competition.
In the valedictory ceremony, Moodbidiri MLA Umanath Kotian said, "Career Destiny has come up with new concept of organising chende competition which is appreciable. I assure full-fledged support for state level chende competetion in future.”
Navaneeth Shetty Kadri compered the event.
Director of Indian Computer Acedamy Murali, Sajitha Murali, Career Destiny's Jayashree, Ashwath Barimaar, Poornima Ashok, Nethra, Divya, Reshma, Manjula, retired police officer Mithra Heraje, Sandeep Kulur from Devi Prasad boating club and others were present.
